Welcome

Just Add Water’s Rare Plant Nursery offers Metro Atlanta the largest selection of  rare, dwarf, and unusual conifers and Japanese maples.  Our nursery distinguishes itself from others by Jody, the owner, traveling across the country finding the plants not well represented in Atlanta, then testing the material here in our gardens prior to offering them for sale.  While offering a few of the commonly found varieties, we specialize in new and exciting botanical finds.

In addition to over 600 conifer cultivars and at least 100 Japanese maple varieties for sale, we offer rare companion plants such as flowering apricot trees (Prunus mume) , Weeping Hackberry (Celtis sinensis 'Green Cascade') and European hornbeam cultivars (Capinus betula).  Our display gardens cover over an acre of land, and continue to expand to show both how the material can be used, as well as how they tolerate the Georgia heat.

Just Add Water feels educating the garden client is as important as the plants we sell, and we happily will spend the time to answer all questions you may have.  Jody also offers lectures to the public, master gardener groups and garden clubs both at our nursery and at your regular meeting place.  Please do not hesitate to call to schedule a meeting.

While we are open by appointment, we are generally available most weekdays and weekends, with the exception of any plant shows will are participating in.  See our news section to find us at a show or festival near you.

Visit our Nursery page often as we continue to share more plants we have to offer. We have many, many cultivars, as some of you know, so it will take a little while... Our goal is to show you what our plants look like year-round, which means we will be adding more photos with each season.

I should have posted this earlier - It's the Master Gardener Home Tour to support the Gwinnett Master Gardeners.  Our friend's home, Shannon Pable of theGA Native Plant Society who is a massively talented designer (she used our material in her display this year at the SE Flower Show.) is on tour.

A Few Spring Pictures

I took a few pictures of our ever-changing garden and nursery.  As we prepare for our Spring Open house, there is new gravel, new plants, and new gardens.  We are excited about seeing you all this season, just remember to wear comfortable shoes as all areas are not paved.   If you cannot make the Open House, just call and set up a time to meet Jody in the garden.  We are happy to host your Garden Club meetings as well.
