Spring 2010

Kimberly's picture

What an interesting 2010 we have had so far!  More snow than I recall in my 43 years here, and then an unusually warm spring.  I'm really bad at the blogging, an my add a fan page on Facebook since I am there more frequently.  I'd love to hear your comments.

It's Fall Already?!

Oh my!  How the time has flown!  I can't beleive it's been so long since the last time I wrote.  I really need to get Jody writing here, as well.    As it is, this is the Fall, and I hope everyone escaped the floods with a minimum of damage.  While we were lucky, some of our friends were not, and we encourage everyone to help their neighbors as best you can.

Shows and more shows

We had a great Open House last weekend, especially in light of the troubled economy.  We were blessed with good weather on Sunday, though a few sprinkles fell here and there.  Ths weekend you'll find Jody at Inman Park, our first time at that festival.  Next weekend he'll trek to Dawsonville, and it will be fun to see what happens there.

We were sad to hear that the Southeastern Flower Show will not have a 2010 event, but they do hope to return in 2011.  If you guys have any ideas or suggestions, I know the coordinators are looking for input.

Plant Shows

Well, the first day of the Hall County show is today, and we're having thunderstorms.  Luckily, the Ag center is covered - just run from your car with the umbrella.  As of now, it's supposed to rain next Saturday, for our Open House.  Never fear, we'll still be there, just a little muddy.  I hope I'll see y'all at one of the shows.  Though it's been pretty rainy this Spring, I hope that makes it the end of our four year long drought.   See ya soon!

My Intro

You won't hear from me as much as Jody....  he's the real talker!  I've enjoyed watching our gardens and nursery grow over the last decade.  I've learned more than I ever thought I would about these very special genera.  One thing I like to do is to walk through the garden and touch the plants.  Some are stiff and prickly, others are as soft as a baby blanket.  Each season I take many, many photos - too numerous to post them all.  However, visit and revisit our site as I will feature some of my favorites.  Both the spring and fall provide a generous amount of color, it is too hard to say which is more vibrant.
